Maria Berglund Rantén - BSc Hons in Nutritional therapy, mBANT, CNHC registered. Since I graduated 2006 I have offered personalised nutrition, health and lifestyle guidance.
My special areas of interest include tolerance to foods, hormonal support, digestive health, emotional and psychological wellbeing, maintaining healthy weight, blood sugar balance, optimal energy levels, healthy looking skin and appearance, and pre/post-natal nutrition.
If needed, I can arrange for diagnostic testing, either with a private laboratory or with your GP. As part of the consultation, I will provide you with a tailored dietary and supplement program as well as support during and in-between consultations.
Part of my job is educating clients – I can suggest where and how to shop for healthy food, how to read labels, different cooking techniques, the importance of the environment, allergens and toxins and explain how dietary and lifestyle changes can lead to better health and vitality. I want you to feel empowered to make the right choices.
Nutritional therapy is part of functional medicine where health care rather than sick care is the focus. Nutritional therapy aim to sustain optimal bodily functions and promote good health. I believe that eating should be an enjoyable and satisfying experience. Many people probably think that seeing a Nutritional Therapist means cutting out all fun and yummy foods and only eating boring rabbit food. True, you probably will need to cut out foods that don't agree with you but it is often more a case of varying your diet to include many new and exciting foods. Thus, healthy eating becomes satisfying and enjoyable!
Corporate work: I do corporate work and travel to clients’ offices. The nutrition protocols are designed to optimise the health, quality of life, and productivity of employees. There are several benefits of optimum nutrition in the workplace. It may reduce sickness absence, maintain ideal energy levels and concentration, adapt to the pressure of modern lifestyle and work, and in general supporting a healthy lifestyle for the employee and hopefully a more productive work environment.
